The greater things in life...

Tonight, I came home from dance to my two favorite things in the world. Dun-dun-DAAAAAA:
A birchbox and a Sephora package. *Insert exaggerated grin here.*

Let's begin with the Birchbox, shall we? We shall.

For those of you who don't know, Birchbox is basically a monthly subscription which you pay $10 for each month and then each month they send you a box full of goodies.

A lot of times they just send you samples, actually I'm pretty sure that when you sign up for Birchbox you fill out a questionnaire and you more or less tell them what you want! But I signed up for the samples since they are one of the finer things in life ;)

This month my box contained:
  • A sample of Aerie's "Shimmer" fragrance. Which a lot of times I don't like the fragrances that are put in birchboxes but I really like this one. I'm just picky about scents I guess.
  • A sample of "Lait-Creme Concentre" by Embryolisse. This is just a French facial moisturizer.
  • Eyeko's Skinny Liquid Eyeliner. Like okay can we just look at this swatch really quick:
I love liquid eyeliner and I love it even more when it's easy to apply and it applies with a thin line as pictured above.
  • I also got a sample of the Ojon damage reverse Instant Restorative Hair Serum. Let's just say that I've been curling my hair waaaaay too much lately so I'm a little too excited to try this out.
  • And lastly, they almost always include a "lifestyle extra" or something of the nature and this month's was a Larabar Bar. To be quite honest I couldn't decide if I liked this or not. It was the cherry cobbler flavor which had almonds, dried cherries, pecans, raisins, cashews, dates, and almonds. Which is  funny because I like all of those things just maybe not blended together like so.
The Sephora box came into my life because my wonderful sister got me a $50 gift card for Christmas. I'm actually pretty surprised that I just now spent it. I have to brag on their shipping though! I put my order in on Friday and received it today, Thursday. I LOVE LOVE LOVE speedy shipping.

The first thing I saw when I opened it up was my favorite thing....

...samples of course. The only thing that I don't like about getting samples, though, is that anytime anyone sends me a sample of a foundation product it's always too dark for me. I'm serious. I had to stop using Clinique foundation because their lightest shade was too dark for me. I'm as pale as it gets ya'll.

Now to the good part.

(You'll have to ignore the fact that this is upside down because my computer is being super slow and frustrating and won't let me rotate it.)
BUT ANYWAY
I've been wanting to try OCC's Lip Tars for the LONGEST time now. I got one in the color "Queen" which is the neon pink one, and the other one is in "Lydia."
These (so I've heard) stay on your lips for an incredibly long time. I mean they should they are a stain technically. Unfortunately these run about $16 a piece. I say unfortunately because I want all the colors.

Next I got Make Up For Ever's Aqua Rouge which is also a stain or as it says on the package "Waterproof Liquid Lip Color." I was going to get Benefit's moisturizer but I've been hearing really good things about the Aqua Rouge lip color lately and I've been in need of a good red that will stay on for more than an hour. Therefore I got it in the color "8" (I guess it's not really a color but I got it in the number 8 so). This runs as a pretty steep price of $24 but since technically my sister was paying for it, I thought why not ;)

I'll more than likely upload reviews on these 3 products later when I get the opportunity to try them out and let y'all know how well they worked! Hope you all had a wonderful Wednesday!
