New Year, Ambitions, Goals, & Standards!

In the spirit of the new year (even though it's the 13th already???) I've decided there's no better time than now to start fresh! I think no matter what, there's always room for improvement in our character. More importantly, I think there's always room for improvement in our relationship with God. Though I have many New Year's resolutions...

Be late- No matter how late I may be running, it's no excuse to drive in a hurry. It's better to be late than in an accident.
Respect your body- I eat WAAAAY too much junk food and drink even more Dr. Peppers. So that needs to stop.
Strengthen my faith/study everyday- Self explanatory.
Become more involved in church- Also pretty self explanatory.
Leave the past in the past, don't open old wounds- A lot of times I get caught up in the past and wish I still had what I used to have and then I start reminiscing and then it's just this big domino effect of emotions and it's just not good. I need to learn to appreciate what I have right now in this moment.
Hold yourself to higher standards- Somewhere along the past couple of years I've stopped valuing myself the way I used to and I need to start pushing myself more.
Family first- I've been going out a lot lately and I've started disrespecting my parents quite a bit which is obviously not a good thing whatsoever. I need to always put them before other people...not necessarily first, before God, but before other people.
Don't sacrifice your character- A lot of times I pretend to be someone I'm not, not to necessarily fit in, but more to be included. and that's never okay. I shouldn't sacrifice parts of myself for other people to like me or include me.
Live an organized life- I usually rely on my own brain to remember every detail of everything that's going on in my life instead of writing it down, so I got a planner to organize my thoughts! I've also got some big plans to clean out and organize my room ;)
& Start a blog- You're lookin' at it :)

...my main one is to strengthen my relationship with God and learn and grow in Him. This blog will hopefully show parts of my journey and maybe even help you with yours. It'll also show different parts of my life, though, it won't just be limited to that. In general it will more or less be about improving myself and my lifestyle.

I'll be putting an about me page up soon to learn more about the girl behind the blog! What are your New Year's resolutions? Let me know in the comments :)

PS. As a first post this shows a lot of my flaws so it's probably not that great of a first impression, but I'm trying to come to terms with my imperfections in order to fix them!

  1. I am happy to be your first follower!! :) I think you've got some great goals, and there is nothing like a new year to energize you to complete them all! A huge goal of mine is to treat my body a lot better... paying attention to what I eat and exercising!

    1. Thank you so much! I followed back! :) I think that's a great goal too! We'll definitely have to help each other out on that one seeing as I'm a HUGE caffeine addict! Hehe.
